Hello All and Peter in particular
I must say I have been very confused about the terms "huguenot" and
"walloon".
So, is someone who was born in France and who hot-footed it to Holland soon
after 1685 and who is listed in the Walloon indexes in the Netherlands and
whose descendants worshipped at the Walloon Church in Canterbury, a Huguenot
or a Walloon?
And, is this a point where I should be careful to make a distinction, e.g.
like not calling a Canadian an American or a New Zealander an Australian? Or
are the terms interchangeable?
Bronwyn
