Hello fellow researchers!
Firstly Happy 2005 to you all, and may this year provide some of the answers
you are all looking for.
Now can anyone please help. My earliest Huguenot ancestor is one Antoine
Hennechart of Beauvais, picardy. A worker in silk. He died 18/2/1685 and his
family landed up in Haarlem.
A Family tradition says he was a relative of one Francois Hennechart who held
manorial rights to the villages of Fontenelle and Papluex for the Duc de
Guise. (No dates for this Francois i'm afraid.) How can i find out more about
this? if that is at all poss.

I have other Hennechart's born in the late 17th cent who later fled France to
Belgium and Holland but no connections to my ancestor Antoine.
Many thanks David.
P.S As someone with a B.A(Hons) in History i consider the "Chat" ( tongue in
cheek ) between members a very helpful way of disseminating
historical/genealogicl material, as well as a helpful way of helping each other to develop
working hypothesis about the subject i am sure we are all capable of sorting out
the best info for our needs. Keep it up ! Unless our list daddy has other
suggestions.
