Tony -
And anyone who had to drive between Dagenham and Romford up to thirty odd
years ago would maintain that that road then was little more than an
up-market cart track also. (I have not travelled that way since).

Mrs Sydney and I make a good contrast in travelling, as she reads a number
of books about the Castles on the Rhine and plagues me to see the place
where Sigbert the fat slew Fiddlefud the Bold, and where Frauerbong the
great Robber compelled the Barons to allow him to rob the Rhiengau, but the
aujourdhui of Life is enough for me. Rev. Sydney Smith 1771-1854, Canon of
St. Paul's.
