Listers --

As you know, Tony has said he is willing to share
specific details/info about the French Church at Dover
by doing surname lookups for those who request them.
(Many thanks, Tony, for your continuing helpfulness and
participation on HWE.)
As Tony has already mentioned, we both feel that these
lookups should follow a certain format. This is so they
are the most useful and interesting for everyone. So,
if you have a request for Tony, it would be appreciated if
you would:

1) Post your request to Tony *on the list*, not to him
privately.

2) Personalize the subject line so that everyone
else will know you're requesting a lookup but, at the
same time, will also know what name(s) you are
interested in. Something simple and short is fine
such as:
Dover Request: SMITH
or
Dover Lookup: JONES, BROWN
In other words, don't use one of Tony's previous
subject lines such as: French Church at Dover Part 3.
Change it, as requested above.

3) Don't include any previous posts to the list in
your lookup request, except for a short <snip>
(excerpt) for clarification if it's needed. See my
post to the list on this subject yesterday (30 June).

4) Capitalize all surnames. This allows others to
quickly and easily see if any of those names are of
interest to them.

OK, once Tony has sent his post with the
last of the Dover surnames -- which should be
sometime later today, I think -- that would be the
time to start posting your lookup requests to the
list. Andrea (list concierge)
