Hi Tricia

Have you looked at Grace Lawless Lee's book, The Huguenot Settlements In Ireland, Clearfield Company First Published. February 1936, Reprinted for Clearfield Company, Inc. By Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. Baltimore, Maryland 1993? Although it is now some years old, it is still the basis text for Huguenots in Ireland. You may get some clues there. And also try to get a copy of Ireland's Debt to the Huguenots by Rev S J Knox, it's dated (1959) now but worth looking up. Also The Huguenots and Ireland: Anatomy of an Empire, edited by Caldicott, Gough and Pittion, 1987, Dublin, may also contain references.

Also very dated now (But I've just bought a first edition at a knock down price, gloat, gloat) is The Huguenots:Their Settlements, Churches, and Industries In England and Ireland, by Samuel Smiles, New York, 1868, Reprinted Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. Baltimore, 1972 Reprinted for Clearfield Company, Inc. By Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. Baltimore, Maryland 1995. This contains some glaring howlers but is still worth looking at.

If you email me directly, I can give you a contact for the Huguenot Society in Dublin who may be able to give you a few pointers.

Regards

Tony Fuller
