morning Listers
(whenever I see that it always reminds me of Red Dwarf, and something Rimmer
might say - apols to those who haven't a clue what I'm on about - it's a TV
Sci-Fi comedy in England)
I've have a good read of the postings i've opened this morning re. marriages
and customs and practices which has been extremely interesting
anyway, i'll get to the point
I would be interested to know if anyone has any info on what some of the
French / Dutch 'Given' names (i.e. First name / christian name), became
anglicised to after people arrived in this country.
For example, I have a couple of "Jenne" women in my Tree, and am wondering if
this became Jane or Joan
I also have a Jacques, but can't find him apart from his baptisms in the
Thorney French Register
While looking at a marriage license from the early 1700s, i thought of a
marketing idea .... Agricola - a fizzy refreshing drink for Roman Farmers
bye for now
