Ooops ... apologies to all. My accuracy in reading 18th century clerk's
writing was under par this evening. I have now ( thanks to the wonders of the
PRO Online Wills service ) obtained what appears to be the probate copy of
the will of the lady referred to in my previous posting, and in that will her
second name is clearly DELME not Dehue, but this is a good old London Wall
Hugger name as well. ( Three cheers! )
Her third name appears now as Lewis not Louisa, so she is Charlotte Delme
Lewis Phene nee Hillier and she has a daughter Charlotte Maria Phene.
My question is, does anyone recognise these ladies, and can anyone link the
Delme and Hillier families ?
