Subject: [HWE] BLUNDELL/BLONDEL + BOSQUIE
Date: Sat, 15 Mar 2003 11:05:38 -0000
My ggggg grandparents were Samuel SHONK and Margaret BLUNDELL who married at
St Helen's, Bishopgate in 1768. Margaret was baptised in 1745 at St
Botolph's, Bishopgate. She was the daughter of Robert BLUNDELL and Edeth
WHITE. Robert and Edith married in 1740 at St Katherine's by the Tower.
The most likely Robert in the IGI records is a Robert BLONDEL baptised at
The Artillery French Hugenot Church in Spitalfields in 1719. If this is the
correct record Robert's parents would have been Thomas BLONDEL and Madelaine
BOSQUIE.
Has anyone any connection with or knowledge of the surnames BLUNDELL,
BLONDEL and BOSQUIE in this area?
Has anyone any information about the French surname BLONDEL being anglisised
to BLUNDELL?
Can anyone tell me if I would be correct in assuming that BOSQUIE could be a
French Hugenot family? I have never seen a reference to this surname before.
Where can I find information about The Artillery French Hugenot Church in
Spitalfields?
