Subject: [HWE] Mulberry Trees & Silkworms
Date: Fri, 24 Jan 2003 15:36:55 EST
Hi everyone,
I wish to thank everyone who posted messages about the silk trade and the
Huguenots. It sure is a fascinating thread.
I am still hoping someone will be able to answer my question, were there
actually mulberry trees in Germany, what is now know as, at least.
Specifically the Wuerttemberg area. Did they actually engage in the weaving
of silk, from worms they imported and did they actually have mulberry trees
for feeding the worms? Or were they more into weaving from flax/linen?
Thanks so much. This is a most intrusting topic and I look forward to
further discussion.
Thanks again.
