Hello, list --

Replying to the post on 26 Apr from Larry & Ann re: CROSOER surname,
?possibly Walloon? in East Kent, ENG late 1600s-1700s.

Thanks for the additional info you posted, Larry & Ann. I would
certainly be interested in sharing my info with you but I will do this
off-list since, at the moment, there is no proven Huguenot/Walloon
connection to any of it.

Have you considered contacting Mr. Stephen Massil at the Huguenot
Society in London to see if he can shed any light on the origins of the
CROSOER name? His e-mail address as well as the Society website
URL are on our own HWE website at:
http://www.island.net/~andreav/orgsaddsbri.htm.

Another possibility is a One Name Study being done on surnames
which are very similar to CROSSOER -- ie. COSSAR & CROSSER as
well as variants such as CROSSER & CROSSAR. There is a website
http://www.cossar.org.uk/ (COSSAR & CROSSER Genealogy Pages)
and you can contact Ann Cossar (the person doing the ONS) at e-mail:
. She is especially interested in these surnames
in Scotland but also says there was a very large group of COSSARs in
southwestern England in the 18th century.

Hope these additional comments are of interest. I will be contacting you
off-list with the further information I have about this CROSOER line.
Andrea
