Listers,
Thanks for the references to the telephone books. I am trying to research my
Huguenot ancestor Abraham CORIELL / CORYELL who is reported to have left
France in 1685 and showed up in New Jersey in 1702. I, and the rest of the
pack of Coriells, have been frustrated trying to find any living or dead
Coriell in France. I found no Coriells in the French phone directory or
email directory - but I did find 31 QUERELLE, which reportedly is the former
spelling. So I emailed all the QUERELLEs with email addresses. It is
interesting to speculate where the name was changed (if that's what
happened). Any guesses as to whether Coriell is more the Dutch
interpretation or English?
