Hello, list --
Is anyone interested in the Huguenots of Lisburn in Ireland? If you are,
you may be interested in going to
http://www.lisburn.com/books/huguenots/huguenots.htm where you will find the
complete contents of the book The Huguenots of Lisburn: The Story of the
Lost Colony by E. Joyce Best, edited & compiled by Kathleen Rankin, Lisburn
Historical Society 1997. The book includes the following chapters --
Ch. 1 A Brief History of The Huguenots
Ch. 2 The Huguenots come to Lisburn
Ch. 3 The Huguenot Weavers come to Lisburn
Ch. 4 The Huguenot Pastors of Lisburn
Ch. 5 More Huguenots
There is also Appendix 1 -- A Selection of Names of the Huguenots of
Lisburn
and Appendix 2 -- Intermarriages in the First and Second Generations between
Huguenots. This is followed by a bibliography and lots of photographs. There
are also many family names mentioned, with short biographical details.
This book is probably worth a look by any Huguenot researcher, even if
you are not interested in Lisburn specifically or even in Ireland generally.
