Subject: [HWE] DOREYS in SUSSEX

I have just made a discovery while browsing my database. One of my
forebears was married in the Providence Chapelry of the Calvanistic
Dissenters in BRIGHTON.

Am I right in presuming this would not have been allowed unless he
and/or his bride was a follower and would they have needed any special
dispensation? He (Walter Dorey and his bride Martha RYDER were married
in 1882) He was from Dorset and she from Brighton.

Is there anyone who could offer advice on my next step to find out the
foundations of this union and which one followed the faith. Are there
any church records to be searched? - I have the marriage certificate.

Thank you anybody.

Michael Dorey. Penzance. England.
