Subject: [HWE] Huguenots to Winchelsea England

Dear Andrea and Fellow listers,

I am so excited reading Andreas account of the Huguenots in Kent that I
almost fell off of my chair. I am always searching the Internet for Jenter
and in the past few days, decided to try the United Kingdom phone book again,
most of the Jenter's in the world live in Germany, but I did come with 2
people living in England named Jenter, I assume they are husband and wife,
they live at the same address, but the thing that caused me the most
excitement was that there is in Winchelsea Beach, I guess it is a suburb of
Winchelsea, on the coast of England, a road, etc, named Jenter Pett Level
Road. It gave the name of the 2 people living on this road in the United
Kingdom phone book, although they are not Jenter's, it did peak my interest.
Last night I spent several hours, on a tour of Winchelsea and the surrounding
area, and this evening was about to contact someone in Winchelsea, via e
mail, there are a lot of hotels, and inns in the area, as well as other links
to various historic sites in Winchelsea. And today we received the Andrea's
account of the Huguenots from Flanders settling in Winchelsea and Rye.

Andreas story could not have come at a better time, I know my Jenter
ancestors were weavers, at least the ones in Germany, and we are more and
more certain that all of the world's Jenter's can trace their ancestry to one
Laux Jenter, our Huguenot born circa 1580 in France. Over the past few days
clues of weavers in Flanders, has given me more hope in linking us, the
England Jenter's to the Germany ones, and to all of us Jenter's in the USA.

I just wanted to say thanks, Andrea, I am definitely going to check this out,
by sending some e mails to the Winchelsea area to see if someone can tell me
something about this Jenter Pett Level Road. Good things come to all those
who wait! And then on to looking into some of your suggestions.

Thanks everyone for the great info lately.
