Hello Elsie:
I do not know if your query is directed only to me, but my
great-grandmother was named Camila Santistevan. She was the daughter of
Carlos Santistevan, who was born in 1802, but I do not know the parish of
his baptism. Her mother was Maria de Jesus VALLEJOS, also born in New
Mexico. They were married in about 1850.
Below is an excerpt from a genealogical chart of Maria Camila Santistevan,
who married Jose Perfecto Espinosa. Jose Perfecto's mother was Juana Maria
Guadelupe Archuleta. They were the parents of my grandmother, Maria Delfina
Espinosa.
Maria Delfina Espinosa married my grandfather, Rufino Sanchez, who was my
mother's father. Following his death at Rouse, Colo., in 1903, Maria Delfina
married Pedro Benavidez. She died in 1977 at the age of 99 1/2.
My own Archuleta ancestors were from Abiquiu, NM, then Arroyo Hondo in the
Taos area, before moving to the Pueblo area of Colorado in about 1850.
