I know my greatgrandfather John Franklin Hipple who retired from the
Harrisburg, PA fire dept. was born in 1896 and died I believe July of 1986.

Percy D Hipple Sr. his son, my grandfather was born May 12, 1927.

His oldest sister I believe was Cora but she died at the age of about 4 in a
tragic vehicular accident in Harrisburg on Broad Street. I believe she
would have been born approx 1920 or so, then Delphine was born shortyly
after. I'm not sure the order of George Cifford, John, or Ralph but I know
my great uncle Harrison Raymond was the youngest and is still alive. He was
born 1931. I will try to talk to him and get some more detailed info.

Their mother's name was Caroline but I'm not sure of her maiden name.

There is a story in my family and I'm not sure how true it is or the exact
details but the jist of it is that the Hipple family owned most of the
property in Banbridge. It has been said that someone was running and illegal
alcolhol manufacturing still of some kind on our families property.
Supposedly when this was discovered the land was ceased due to prohibition
and that was the beginning of poverty and the "Hipple Black Cloud" in our
family. I know part is probably supersticious but I know there is some
truth to the story. I just haven't had the time or resources to dig into
the local county records and see how far back they go. I'd love to find
some type of legal documents or newspaper article on this.

Any help is so greatly appreciated. I'd love to be able to share this with
the rest of my family.

Thanks,

Coriena
