Subject: [HANDCART-L] Wyoming Mormon Pioneers
Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2000 01:17:13 EST
Hi!
Please forgive me for just jumping in. Usually, I lurk on a list for a while
before I open my mouth. But, I wanted to get this message to those who might
be interested.
The WyomingGenWeb is looking for a webmaster who would be interested in
creating a website about the Mormon handcart pioneers through the State of
Wyoming, and those who chose to settle in Wyoming.
It would be helpful to know HTML, and have access to the Latter-day Saints
Library (either in Salt Lake City or a local FHC) to collect information and
other databases and genealogies to put online. A LDS faith webmaster would
be great, so elements of the religious needs of these early pioneers could be
included at the website. A team of webmasters, several people of differing
skills and talents, is another option to make this a well-rounded genealogy
and history website.
I've been to the Handcart website, but I would like to have a website, as
part of the WyomingGenWeb, that focuses just on the Wyoming Segment of the
Mormon Trail, and events in Wyoming historically. Also, genealogy of those
early LDS families.
If you are interested, please contact me for more information!
