Does anyone know if the LDS emigrant ship registers are being transcribed? I
know you can search on the voyager CD by name, but you can't print an actual
roster. I was able to sort all the hits for "Underwriter 1860" and had
laboriously tagged all 1000+ names, but when I tried to save to a file, I got an
error message indicating I needed some software.

I was wondering if anyone knew if the ROSTERS are being transcribed (as
different from being indexed). I'm working on a demographic study of people on
the western trails in 1860 (LDS, gentiles, people living along the trail,
soldiers at the forts, ect.). One phase would involve matching the people on
the two LDS ships in 1860 (the Wm. Tapscott was the other) to wagon/handcart
companies that year. The ship registers give point of contact (not necessarily
the place of residence), age and occupation. I've identified all those on the
Underwriter who went with the 9th handcart company. I'd to avoid having to copy
by hand all 1,000 entries from the CD, then trying to put them in order per the
actual register.
