When doing Sacramento Research, please do not ignore the use
of city directories. Sacramento has many from the 1850s and 1860s
and more on fiche and film. They can be had thru FHL or thru
Interlibrary loan. I made some amazing discoveries about my
ancestor Willis Coplan, who lived in Sacrament from 1851-59 by
this method.
