Buckmuller is Buchmueller - they were not Russian but German Colonists
in Russia. They were invited to live in a couple of areas in Russia by
Catherine the Great,, if I remember correctly, but eventually driven out
-- looks like yours left when things were heating up before the
Bolshevik Revolution. They would have faced conscription in to the
fighting forces.
