Subject: having problems with Wilson

I am having problems locating my g-g-grandfather. All i have a name John
Cleveland Wilson. My father tells me he died in either Kansas or Nebraska
and we know that he was killed on a windmill. Can someone tell me the
easiest way to locate a John Cleveland Wilson. I have looked at census
records from 1880 and nothing. I cant think of anything else.
