Pam,
The SS # you found on the Death certificate may one of her brothers or
sisters? or the person who filled out the Death certificate.
Here is a site that you can look up surnames from the SSDI.
If you type the surname you may be able to match up the number
if the person is already deceased. The Ancestry site has a place to type
the SSN if you just type the number you may be able to see who it belongs to.
