You don't have to be the next of kin to get an Oklahoma death certificate.
I've gotten many of them. The form the State Dept of Health uses asks the
purpose for which the copy is needed and I always put "genealogy". They've
never challenged it.
By the way, you pay $10 for the search, whether they find your relative's
death certificate or not.
