Subject: FTM Charts, GEDs and a question at the end

I would just like to add my 2 cents (if it's worth that) to this discussion of
FTM charts. I have found the descendant charts to be great. The children
always descend from the spouse of the family member--ie, if the family member
is a son, his children descend from his wife (female); if the family member is
a daughter, her children descend from her husband (male). I don't know how
else you would do this if there were remarriages with children by a second
spouse. With this format the children of each marriage are attached to the
biological spouse.
As for making GEDs of just the people on a chart and not the entire
file--after you select the individual you want on your GED (by outline or
chart) click on FILE, then click on COPY/EXPORT INDIVIDUALS about halfway
down, not Copy/Export File. This way only the individuals on that outline or
tree will be includeded on the .ged you are making. I have been doing this a
lot lately in exchanging information and it works great.
Now for a question. I think in someone's message last week they mentioned an
FTM mailing list they were one, but I deleted it before I copied down the URL
to subscribe. WIll you please email it to me. Thanks.
