Hi gang,
I have this experience from time to time and I wondering how you all
handle it.
e-mail from gal who sends you family line - names of males, no dates,
no places, no wives, nothing to say if she is going from father to son
or son to father.
I e-mail back as one of the guys has an odd name & from there I can
guess what she is talking about. She has evidently jumped a generation
& also attached the family together in a way that I can not prove. So
write back and and to her outline - adding dates, places, wives, other
children and QUESTIONS. I add ref: deeds books, will books, ... Maybe 3
pages of typing.
I hear back - she asks what I know about George born 1810 and goes to
TX. She doesn't respond to any of my questions, does not say if I have
identified her line.
I write back and say "You have not responded to any of my questions.
Where did you get your information? What proof (deeds, wills, death
cert., marriage bonds, marriage license, census...) do you have?
She wrote back that I was rude and pushy and should not be doing
genealogy - went on for a page ... but no more data - if what she sent
me the first time was data. I was told NEVER to contact her again.
Idea?
Smiles, Joy
