J C-
WHEN did the person die in TX--??

There is an index to the death records of TX-- between 1903 & 1940 available on microfilm. The names are in alphabetical order
and contained on seven rolls of microfilm and may be ordered from TX State Archives, 4400 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin TX 78756 --
$17.50 per roll plus shipping . It shows the county where they died, the date and the document number to order it. Order from
the TX Bureau of Vital records.

I understand that the later records (after 1940) are shown on rolls of film that are in alphabetical order (-- not all-inclusive
by specific dates). You can check on them by calling Pete Cortez; TX State Archives, Austin TX - 454-2705- ex 125.

PS-- they do not do "look-ups" at this address/telephone number-- they only sell film.
