Subject: [GenConnecticut-L] Request for POORHOUSE Info
Date: Sun, 16 Apr 2000 17:22:40 -0500

Recently I published a website http://poorhousestory.com intended to be a
clearinghouse for information about all 19th century American poorhouses.
Poorhouse records have proven to be a valuable and previously largely
untapped source of information about many people who may have been otherwise
undocumented in the records we more commonly search to climb over our BRICK
WALLS!

If, on the above website, you go to the page at
http://www.poorhousestory.com/other%20poorhouses.htm you will see that -- so
far I have been unable to find any on-line references to poorhouses in
Connecticut. If any readers know of such records or histories, I would
really
appreciate help directing Connecticut researchers to them through the
website.

Thanks,
Linda
(aka = The Poorhouse Lady)
