Chas;
What a grand idea. We need to share these stories with not only our
families but with others. You never know what might spark an idea for
those searching for loved ones or ancestors.
My mother was French Canadian and not proud of it. I'm not sure why.
But once an aunt came visiting and let the cat out of the bag and mother
was so angry she said the awful cuss word she reserved for such time.
"Dim it."
Of course there never was a time when we could get more information
because of that awful cuss word hanging over our head.
By the way, maybe one of you could answer the questions, why would she
be so shamed by being a French Canadian?
I hope I haven't stepped on toes because I truly don't understand.
Hope to get back with some stories I enjoy telling.
