Mike, I've found GEDCOM files to generally be free from viruses (too much trouble for the
mischief-minded to tamper with). However, it's a good idea to have a virus-protection program
in place anytime you sign onto the Internet. The one I use is called ViralScan and is made by
Easysoft.
