Subject: [GSV] Melbourne General Cemetery Memorials CD-ROM
Date: Mon, 25 Jun 2001 06:01:07 +1000

Subscribers to GSV-L may remember my posting on 13 May advising that when
we did an audit of the transcriptions of the memorials we found some had
been missed. Many of these missing transcriptions are already being
prepared for the second edition of the CD-ROM.

There remains one largish section (Presbyterian H) to be transcribed. We
need some help to transcribe it.

The transcription of the memorials is a joint GSV and AIGS project. We have
separately sought help from the AIGS.

These are the arrangements we have made:

. The transcriptions to be done on Tuesday 3 July (or the following Tuesday
if the weather is too awful on 3 July)

. Start at 10 am, finish by 4 pm

. Parking inside, next to the area to be transcribed (we will send a map of
the cemetery showing where to park)

. We will provide a lunch of sandwiches and fruit juice (BYO hot drink if
you wish)

. BYO pen or pencil. We will provide notebooks and "simple instructions"

. BYO children or grandchildren

If you can help please email me your name and a contact phone number at

and say if you can help on 3 July and/or 10 July
