My GGrandfather, Anthony Bray Lindley - born 1835 in Elland Yorkshire - came to Australia on the ship British Trident arriving in Melbourne in Dec. 1857. He travelled with his cousin Law Oldfield and together they started a Timber Merchants business in about 1864, this business was still operating in the late 1800s but I believe my GGF sold out his share shortly before his death in 1885. Law Oldfield died in Hawthorn in 1912.

I wonder if I can make contact with descendants of that Oldfield family using this list?
And/or can anybody advise where I might find old company records? I had no luck at the State Archives.
