Hi Colleen,

Bike racing was very popular indeed in the early 20th century. A very
good source of information on bikeracing is the "Australiasian Cyclist
and Motor Car World" weekly newspaper, which reported on bike races,
bike-club activities, and so on. A really good read, actually, and in
fact full of interesting material for local history, as clubs usually
had a correspondent giving a description of the latest "club run", and
these made interesting comments about many country towns.

The SLV has copies on microfilm, with a bit of luck, you might find some
in the State library in Adelaide.

Best wishes
