The former RGH Hospital is no longer a Repat Hospital,
the Australian government have closed all the Repat.
Hospitals. The RGH Heidelberg was taken over by
the Victorian Government and Jeff lumped it with
the Austin and PANCH and formed what was
termed a hospital campus. PANCH is closed, dunno
what happened to the RGH.
Have a cruise of the Vic PRO web site and see if
there is any mention of the Heidelberg Military
Hospital as at the time you are talking off it would
have been the Colony of Victoria and all those
old records (if still extant) would be held by VPRO.
Did the Colony of Victoria in fact have a permanent
military force in those days, or was it still British
forces stationed here?
