Any idea WHY a 14 year old boy would have died at The Heidelberg Army
Hospital in 1891 ? He was living at Richmond .I would have thought Victoria
was like Sth Aust.& that the Army Hospitals would have been for men in The
Services NOT young boys of 14 !I realise that boys were virtually classified
as men early than we do these days BUT I can't understand WHY he was there &
NOT at a central Melbourne hospital closer to Richmond. BTW - his father was
NOT in the Armed services !

Even IF he supposedly " put up " his age to be in the Army - I do NOT
believe that we were fighting anyone then - Where we ? What age were our
young lads supposed to be to join the Army back around the 1890's?

I notice from my 1998 Melways that the hospital is still there .Any chance
they may release records to me on my ancestor? Do you know f they have an
e-mail or fax number for their admin dept?
