G'day all,

The major on-line sites that I reference for Aussie War Records are:

Australian War Memorial:
<http://www.awm.gov.au/>;
Provides many databases that can be searched.
Also now has an image copy of the nominal roll of all who served
overseas in WW1.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission
<http://www.cwgc.org/>;
Provides details about all who died in the Wars, includes a
good description of the War cemeteries.

National Archives of Australia
<http://www.naa.gov.au/>;
Provides access to their database of files which includes references
to many who served in the First World War. Details of enlistment are
often included in the file headers.
A copy of the file for First World War diggers can be obtained
by relatives for $15, by writing to the Archives with file details.

Public Records Office UK
<http://www.pro.gov.uk/>;
Similarly provides access to their Catalogue which includes file
header references to those who served, or obtained pensions.

Department of The Somme France
<http://www.anzac.org/>;
Provides the story from the French perspective.

Australia's Cultural Network: ANZAC Day - The story and many links
<http://www.acn.net.au/articles/anzac/index.htm>;

I find these sites are always worth revisiting as more information is
progressively brought on-line.
