Dear Sandra,
Fear not, the messages "go forth be fruitful and multiply" were not
viruses.
(A) Viruses are transmitted through attachments sent with e-mail,
especially as executable files (*.exe) or (*.com). If do get e-mail with
attachments of this kind, (1) do not open them if you do not know the
sender. (2) verify with a known sender that THEY did indeed consciously
send them to you. (3) then if all seems okay, save them rather than run
them through your browser, then check them with a virus checker, before
you run them.
(B) It is normal etiquette on mailing lists not to send any
attachments. On moderated message boards e-mail with attachments can be
filtered before being broadcast.
Do not forsake GSV-L.
