I agree that the structure of the Pioneers Index can "encourage"
misinterpretation. However in the case I cite not only is there an index
entry for the marriage in England but the English certificate has been bought.

In another posting to GSV-L Arthur Harris made the point that the couple
might have married a second time to renew vows. And that may have been the
case - I doubt we will ever know.

Has anyone evidence that a second marriage ceremony to renew vows involves
a second set of records? And if yes, are the records Church or State, or both?
