The SWB refers to the Silver War Badge which was awarded to soldiers
who were invalided out of the army after illness or a wound. It was awarded from September 1916 onwards.
The 392 code refers to King's Regulation 392 which governed the discharge of men from the British Army. The 392 code is normally followed by a code in Roman numerals which specifies the reason for discharge.
The medal rolls for the SWB are held at the National Archives at Kew
and may contain further informtion regarding the reason for discharge.

'Dis 392/?? (can't make out what is written there) 24/7/16.
He had been taken prisoner at sometime and was exchanged along with 103
other men which was written up in the London Times on February 7, 1916. The
write up said that most of the men had been wounded when they were captured. I
am wondering if Dis. means he was discharged later that summer?
Hi
I would certainly say that this is the date of his official discharge. I
think the that the 392/?? would probably be his discharge number.
