Hello All,

I am still researching my grandfathers' service in WW1 and wonder if anyone can shed any light on the Transferance on men from the 2nd Battalion Royal Warwicks to the Royal Berkshires.

I think grandfather served with the Warwicks to about 1916 and he certainly did not go to Italy with that Regiment in 1917. I assume he was thus transfered around 1916.

Grandfather was wounded at, I was told by my ale father, Gouzeacourt Wood, shot through the neck but he survived.

I have tried the Wadrobe web for the Berks site but this has not turned up the info so far.
I have tried to find more specific mention in books about Gouzeacourt Wood but few relate to it other than the area or village of Gouzeacourt. My understanding is the grandfather was shot either attacking a German trench or defending a British trench.

Any one got any info?
Thanx
Ray
