Hello everyone - my name is Glenys Proudfoot and I live near Poitiers in France. I've been researching the history of my husband's family - PROUDFOOT/SCOTT (of Dalston, Carlisle and Lancaster - for several years and am now looking into my own family. They include:

JONES of Belmont & Turton near Bolton, Yardley Hastings in Northants
DICKER of Isle of Wight, Dorset and Belmont, Bolton
KELLEY of Bolton
COOPER, Albert and Eveline of Edgworth, Bolton and Australia
BENTLEY (William) of Bolton and Australia (Dulwich Hill, Sydney?)

Specifically, I'm trying to find information on my maternal grandfather, James KELLEY, b. Bolton 28/6/1889. When I was small he told me he was in the Dardanelles/Gallipoli during WW1 (can't remember exactly what he said). Can anyone help me find out which regiment he'd have been with? He lived in Bolton/Bury all his life.

If anyone has any info that might help me, I'd be very grateful.
