Hello all
I'm hoping somebody can clarify something for me, I am trying to ascertain
whether a person who appears in uniform in two pictures from WW1 is the
same person as I have a death certificate for.
The two pictures are as follows:
The first shows the man wearing uniform and what would appear to be the cap
badge of the RAMC together with Red Cross badges on his sleeves, this
picture seems to have been taken in this country probably prior to
embarkation to the Continent.
The second picture shows the same man together with three others one of
whom is wearing a similar style of uniform with the Red Cross badges (but
without a cap badge), the other two are dressed more like fighting men and
one of them seems to be wearing spurs, the cap badges of these two are
indistinct but do not resemble the RAMC badge.
Now I have a copy of the death certificate for the man in question, Albert
H. DEAN and this reads as follows:
No T/16506 Driver Albert H. Dean Royal Army Service Corps attached 2/2nd
West Riding Field Ambulance died at 10th General Hospital, France 27th
November 1918.
I know the individual in the certificate is the correct person but is he
also likely to be the same person as in the photographs?
Any thoughts or suggestions would gratefully received.
