I was in touch with Sister Winifred Doyle four years ago. At that time the only thing that I obtained from her was Lizzie's date of death. Perhaps I should contact her again.

Dear Sister,

I am a family historian who has a special interest in the Homes/Houses of
the Good Shepherd as they were in the early 1900's.

One that interests me in particular is the one you once had in Brooklyn, New
York. It was on Hopkinson Avenue in 1910 and was a very large facility.

Lizzie Geendlinger is listed as an inmate and yet family members remember
her as a cloistered nun...perhaps a Magdalene? The census first lists
religious, then inmates followed by prisoners.

Can you tell me if Lizzie was in fact a member of your community or some
sort of inmate. In 1910 she was 53 years old. Many other women in her age
group are also listed. It is difficult to read her occupation but it appears
they all worked in a laundry.

Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
