It makes no sense to me why cloistered nuns would be listed as inmates.

Except in the case I mentioned someone in the family remembered a nun in the
family who you could not see but had to talk to through a screen and a
curtain. That certainly fits the bill for that time frame.

I think the only place to get the "true story" is from the archivist of the
Sisters of the Good Shepherd and would suggest anyone with an interest
contact the sisters.

Does anyone else have a census reference?
