Yes, Elizabeth you are right about the TV movie with Mary Tyler
Moore.
Eventually she was caught and th judges that helped her. Shades of the
"old welfare" system-a little worse than NY state.

As, to the records I think if there are any papers or the ones found
-probably dates were made up along the way, especially since Georgia and
her group just tok the kids away without gettin information about age,
names, birthdates etc. So, they said the child was age ? because that's
what the child looked like to them. Or the child themselves may have
said they were age? to appear older or younger. Most of these situations
and areas the children were taken from, if I remember the movie right
was mainly poor fairly uneducated folks and during the depression. I do
not remember Georgia and group taking anyone from the better homes or
areas.

The writer may try looking thru old court documents if there are any of
the case on Georgia to see if anything could be found but I think
Georgia and her group were pretty shrewd as to not leave too much of a
paper trail, and most of that stuff would probably have been destroyed
in one way or the other because they weren't kept in good condition to
safeguard records back then.
While today it seems evertything is computerizethere was no social
security numbers, as the SS didn't come into effect until the late '37,
so the parents wouldn't have been reigstered.
The only possibility might, and I emphasize "might" be census rolls for
1930, due out in 2 years on film. However, it will not be indexed. If the
census taker got around to Georgia's place.
She paid off quite a few people to keep things hush hush, so that is
only a chance that the children would be on the census an dprobably not
all of them.
Might be easier to find in teh GS home in Chicago tho, if they were
there then.

In reference to the (mine) posting yesterday, about adoptions I was
refering only to NY, seems the court system got more and more secretive
as time went on in all states.
There is a possibility one of the "Search for lost releatives sites" for
$35. up might be able to help, I heard sometimes they do pretty good
job.
There is also a book out about "How to find anyone", starting with
drvers licenses, etc.
Should be found onn Bernes and Noble site or Amazon.com

Hope the searchers has some luck soon, and can solve the mystery, I know
how maddening it is. I have been trying to find information on my
Grandfather and his family for 35 years. With very little paper trail.
