I came from a wealthy home but the state took me out of their home and I was
placed in a simular home as Good-Shepherd but it was called St. Marys in
Portland, Oregon.

In St Marys it was one large room with cots and if your bed was not made
"just so" the nuns would just snatch everything off the bed and throw it on
the floor and tell you to "make it right"

In the bath room there were several sinks, about 10 on each side of the room
and some times you had to wait your turn to use one of the sinks............
knowing they had just washed their privates and you want to wash your face.

One girl commented suicide, I could hear her playing the piano from the
gardens below and she had a sadness to her music but she also had a talent
that is for sure.

We worked the laundry half a day and when to school half a day. Hot hard
work with ironing with the big manglers.

I was raised wealthy but it was not for their child. Children were to be
seen and not heard. Sent to their room if company came, everything for the
self centered mother who now has had 3 face lifts, dental implants, a eye
"job", tummy tuck and tattooed eyebrows....LOL!!!!

I was born crippled and was 14 days old when I went into Shriners Hospital
in San Francisco, Cal, to be hidden because I was deformed and to be denied
everything for that reason also(once hung a dress in my door way, I was
excited, she said no it was for the girl up the street, and it was too). I
was only taken care of because "what would people say" if I were not.

I know what abuse is, I have come to the point in my life that I no longer
take abuse. Not even verbal.......and she and I do not talk, ever, and she
doesn't even know where I am either and no longer "breaks my heart"
