Hi Nan, That was probably true for the time period. I will say that in
the 1950s, I never saw a Good Shepherd nun mistreat anyone. And I am no fan
of nuns. I went to St. Francis Xavier grade school in NYC and the Sisters
of Charity were not all nice. They were mean spirited and could get very
physical with no good reason. I can only remember one nun there who was
nice all the time. Another thing, if you did behave, you could get
privilages. Going into town to shop and go to a movie. Marilyn
