Subject: [GEORGE-L] GEORGE DNA Study - more findings
Date: Sun, 03 Nov 2002 10:01:11 -0500
New DNA test results posted on the George Surname Study web pages show
that William George, b. in Tennessee in 1821, was related to the family
of Benjamin George, Lincoln County, Tennessee, not to the families
represented by Jesse and Pressley George. These two families lived in
Wilson County, Tennessee, at the same time and also moved to Lincoln
County, Tennessee, in the same time frame.
Previous tests showed that these two family groups were not closely
related.
Among other findings, the study has so far helped tie John George of
Kentucky (1801-1876) to the George Families of Chatham/Orange County,
North Carolina.

The web site contains general information on selected George families in
addition to the DNA results.
