Hi listers:

Fairly recently, I've found GEORGEs in my lineage.
They appear in Lancaster Co, VA. As I just received
the second GEORGE name the other day, I decided to
subscribe to the GEORGE surname list -- here's my
first posting!

My 3rd great-grandmother was Elizabeth GEORGE, who
married Robert EDMONDS on 15th JAN 1838. Elizabeth
GEORGE was the daughter of Zamuth GEORGE. I do not
have her mother's name.

The marriage was secured and witnessed by Heirom JAMES
and took place in Lancaster Co, VA.

Robert and Elizabeth (GEORGE) EDMONDS appear with
their children in the 1850 Lancaster Co, VA Census.
Their young daughter Roberta EDMONDS also appears in
that census. Roberta is my 2nd great grandmother.
She went on to marry Henry MITCHELL.
