Hello fellow GEORGE rooters. This is the earliest record I have found of my
GEORGE ancestors. There was a lot of disaster in this family ... William (
age 11 in this 1881 census) and his wife Alice (Wintemeyer) GEORGE both died
young of TB in London. Their children (shown in outline below census record)
were split up. Only the eldest, Edith remained in London. The others were
sent abroad to work as teenage servants or lumberjacks in Canada. Eventually
(circa 1953) they had a reunion in Pawtucket, RI .. gathered from England,
Oregon/California. unfortunately, Alfred died in a plane crash onthe eway
back to his family out west. Hope to make some connections with lost cousins.
