2. Col. Hervy (Harvey) GEORGE was born about 1800 and died in 1865. He
was the youngest child of William George & Jane/Jennet Patton . Hervy
George was a Lawyer and Farmer. He served as School Commissioner in
1830 and in the General Assemby for two terms, 1832-34 and 1848-49. At
the beginning of the Civil War, he returned to the State Legislature and
served until 1863. He then became a presiding Judge in the Tazewell
County Court until his death in 1865. He was given the honorary title of
Colonel by Gov. John B. Floyd.

In 1829, Hervy George acquired land on the west fork of Plum Creek in
Witten Valley, six miles west of the Tazewell court house, and there,
about 1843, he completed a large brick home of Three-Part Palladian
architecture which was named Chimney Rock Farm and has also been called
The Willows. While common in the Tidewater and Piedmont regions of
Virginia, this style of architecture is rare in the south western part
of the state. This home was placed on the Virginia Historic Landmarks
Register in the 1970's and belongs to the D. H. Harold family. He was
married to Sallie ...WHO????.

3. Sallie ...(WHO????.)(was it HORTON?) probably lived from 1805-1859,
Hervy GEORGE and Sallie had the following children:

1 i. Mary Matilda GEORGE 1830-1928, who married Jesse Meek McCall
ii. Laura J. GEORGE who married a FRENCH
William C. George 1827-Sept 12, 1863 was possibly their child also.

THIRD GENERATION

4. William GEORGE died in 1810 in Tazewell Co, VA. He began acquiring
land by grant and deed in present day Tazewell County, as early as 1795.
He also owned lots in Jeffersonville (town of Tazewell) in 1800 and
owned a drygoods and general store called "George and Co." He left a
large estate at his death in 1810. He was married to Jane/Jennet PATTON
in 1793. (Can anyone confirm this?)

5. Jane/Jennet PATTON died in 1820. Source for this Patton line is :

10. Henry PATTON. He was married to Martha RANDOLOPH.

11. Martha RANDOLOPH. Henry PATTON and Martha RANDOLOPH had the
following children:

i. Issac PATTON.
ii. Polly PATTON.
iii. Matilda PATTON.
5 iv. Jane/Jennet PATTON.

FIFTH GENERATION

20. Henry PATTON was born about 1600 in Scotland. He was married to
Sarah LYNN.

21. Sarah LYNN. Henry PATTON and Sarah LYNN had the following
children:

i. John PATTON Sr. was born about 1689 in Londonderry, Ireland. He
died in 1757 in Augusta Co., VA.
ii. Elizabeth PATTON was born about 1695.
iii. William PATTON.
iv. James PATTON was born about 1692. He died in 1755.
v. Matthew PATTON.
vi. Thomas PATTON.
vii. Robert PATTON.
10 viii. Henry PATTON.
ix. David PATTON.
x. Benjamine PATTON.
